Lilly Software Offers IBM Global Financing

14 April, 1999, HAMPTON, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Lilly Software Associates, Inc. (LSA), has signed an agreement with IBM Global Financing (IGF), part of the IBM Corporation of Armonk, New York. Under the agreement, Lilly Software is authorized to offer IBM Global Financing Services to Lilly customers. IBM Global Financing, including IBM Credit Corporation in the US, provides flexible financing and leasing solutions, with the goal of making it as fast and as easy as possible for customers to acquire the information technology hardware, software and services they need to run their businesses.

The key benefit of IGF financing, according to an IBM spokesperson, is that it "can help customers begin to reap the benefits of new IT solutions without having to make a large payment up front." This is especially important to small and midrange manufacturers for whom the purchase of software, maintenance, and new hardware to support the system, is a significant budget item. Financing makes budget approval more likely, allowing a new customer to put the technology to work in the next quarter versus the next fiscal year.
This financing agreement marks the second Lilly Software/IBM joint announcement since the beginning of the year. Lilly announced in January that customers can purchase IBM's AS/400e servers preloaded with VISUAL Manufacturing, Lilly's flagship enterprise resource planning (ERP) and advanced planning and scheduling (APS) solution.
