Lilly Software acquires Telesis Computer Corporation
Strategic acquisition to provide end-to-end manufacturing solution

20 October 1998, Hampton, NH - Lilly Software Associates, providers of fully integrated Supply Chain Management software, today announced it has acquired Telesis Computer Corporation, developers of make-to-stock and repetitive manufacturing control software. Under the terms of the acquisition, Telesis Computer will do business as Telesis Software Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Lilly Software Associates.
Lilly regards the purchase of Telesis as a strategic advantage, positioning them to offer one of the most complete manufacturing solutions in the industry. Complementary, rather than competitive, each product set serves a different segment of the manufacturing continuum. Moreover, Telesis' strength in electronic data interchange (EDI), inventory control and order processing can be combined with Lilly's solid Windows architecture and finite scheduling capabilities.
At present, about 30% of Lilly's client base is in repetitive and mixed-mode manufacturing, "And that percentage is growing beyond our expectations," said Richard T. Lilly, CEO and president of Lilly Software Associates. "This acquisition gives us the sales, development and support infrastructure we need to take full advantage of that growth."
